Renico Construction Newsletter- December 2022

With most South Africans preparing for the holidays ahead, it is hard to believe that this will be the first Christmas in two years where we will all have total freedom to travel and operate without any restrictions or limitations being forced upon us. Our construction industry has a fair number of employees from neighbouring countries and our hearts go out to each and every one of them - and others - who has been cut off from their friends and families for such an extended period. Hopefully, they will use this opportunity to again connect with loved ones.

With the ANC's elective conference starting in less than two weeks, the run-up has once again proved that their members of parliament are more concerned over their future positioning within the party than the welfare of any one member within their constituency. The meddling and in-fighting have all the attributes of a low-budget soapie. However, sadly, this soapie, unlike those on the small screen, has a direct impact on our economy and livelihoods.

Our offices close for the annual construction industry holiday period on 14 December and we re-open on 11 January. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all employees, contractors, suppliers, and clients for their continued support over the past year. If you are lucky enough to be spending some time away from work, enjoy every moment of it. To those travelling to holiday destinations or family further afield - safe travels!

This coming weekend will be the last show weekend at all our developments. Our agents will be taking a short break during the holiday period but we always have sales associates on standby to assist with any queries related to our numerous projects.

I look forward to the coming year and what it holds, not only for the Renico family but for all South African people.

FEATURED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

With construction completed at both the Mooi Land and Welverdiend projects within the de Land Estate in Potchefstroom, our teams can move onto their new sites for 2023. With only a limited number of units still available within the two developments, our appointed agents in Potchefstroom should quickly be able to wrap up the sales and have both projects sold out within the coming months.

The show unit under construction at our Fernhill site in Bryanston has also reached roof-height. We will return in January to firstly erect the roof and then complete the home for marketing purposes. There has been a significant increase in interest in this development as the construction of the show unit progressed.

The roof structure of our Rainhill show block will also be erected in January whereafter the show unit will also be completed and furnished. The construction of the remaining homes within the development will commence shortly thereafter. I am confident that once completed these stunning apartments will be immensely popular, with both tenants and owners alike.

Last week we had our first families take occupation of their brand new Ndalo homes in Albertsdal. With more families becoming part of this newly established community in January and then again in February, we predict that most of the homes will be occupied by March.

We are awaiting delivery of the final five NHBRC enrolment certificates for our Brendavere Estate cluster home development in Fourways. Once received, construction of these last five homes will commence immediately, resulting in all stands within the project either being under construction or already having a completed home. With only eight homes still available to purchase, I am positive that this development will be fully sold out early in the new year.

FEATURED COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

During the past month Mr Price Home commenced trading at the Vyfhoek Retail Centre in Potchefstroom. With only two shops still available at the Vyfhoek Retail Centre and one in the adjacent Vyfhoek Shopping Centre it will only be a matter of time before we will have fully occupied Centre. In conjunction with the recently launched carwash and the imminent opening of the Top Dog Family Restaurant, shoppers may look forward to an amazing shopping experience there.

LAUNCHING SHORTLY

As yet another year comes to an end we are already carefully planning which developments will be the next to be launched. A vast amount of time is spent by many professionals within the industry to enable us to eventually launch a new development.

When we return to our desks in January - and the various sites still under development - we will make our final decision as to what project will be the next one to tackle. Everyone who has opted to receive my monthly newsletter will hear about it in our first newsletter of 2023, which we distribute early in February.
